Natoli Engineering Completes Successful Q1 2018 Technical Training

Natoli Engineering recently completed a successful technical training course. Participants from across the United States visited Natoli’s Technical Training Center in St. Charles, Missouri, for the Basics of Tablet Manufacturing & Troubleshooting training February 20-22, 2018.

Attendees of this training class were from a widely varied range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, confectionery, alloys, and aerospace. They also covered a diverse array of job responsibilities, from scientists and mechanics to engineers and maintenance managers.

Topics covered in the training included:

  • Tablet shapes and designs
  • Tablet press setup and operation
  • Tooling options
  • Steel types
  • Tool inspection
  • Tool reworking and polishing

Tablet Manufacturing Process Training at Natoli Institute for Industrial Pharmacy Research and Development

Another group completed the Tablet Manufacturing Process Training at Natoli Institute for Industrial Pharmacy Research and development at Long Island University March 11-14, 2018. This course offers a comprehensive, hands-on experience regarding the tablet manufacturing process from formulation development to tablet design to tablet compression – all at our state-of-the-art lab at LIU.

Participants gained a working knowledge of:

  • Fluid bed operations
  • Dry granulation
  • Wet granulation hot-melt extrusion
  • Tablet coating
  • Tablet press operations

Students attended from across the United States as well as Canada and Mexico. From a mix of pharmaceutical and supplement companies, attendees included plant managers, scientists, engineers, and QA/QC directors.
